Do you dread coming home to your kitchen after work? The last thing you want to do is spend an hour or more with used pans and cramped spaces after a busy day. This Valentine’s Day, change how you see your kitchen and fall in love again with cooking by getting some of the best kitchen appliances out there!
The answer is pretty clear, right? Just spend a ton of money on the best kitchen appliances! But that doesn’t work for a majority of us, including me. This Valentine’s Day, I plan on saving money with my kitchen so I can also take out my significant other on a nice date. With a little bit of searching, I’ve been able to find some amazing deals and some different kitchen tools that can help you turn your kitchen into a more productive and enjoyable cooking space. If you’ve seen or used any of the tools I’ve listed below, let me know in the comments what works best for you!
Sorbus Pot and Pan Rack – Pots & Pans Organization
When it comes to kitchen organization, even the very best kitchen appliances can sometimes end up taking up quite a bit of space. And, if your kitchen is small like mine, you need to maximize every square inch. I prefer to have my cupboards full of groceries and my plates, bowls, and cups, so I’m left with a mystery of where to store my pots and pans. The Sorbus Hanging Rack grabbed my attention for multiple reasons. It was small enough to not take up too much ceiling space above my counters, it can hold all of my pans (including my cast iron), and it’s an affordable option. I know some folks may not like the idea of hanging up their pots and pans, but this can really free up some space in your kitchen. And, if you put this above your drying rack, you can wash and hang your pans to dry.
When was the last time you took a real good look at some of your day-to-day cooking tools? Your spatula, your wooden spoon, your whisk? Many of the tools my wife and I have came from our wedding gifts almost six years ago, and I’ve realized they have been used and abused. I confess, I occasionally put my wooden utensils in the dishwasher when I’m super lazy even though I know that that can ruin them. My measuring tools have been pretty beat up over time too, including my teaspoon that literally broke this month. Are you in need of some new day-to-day tools? This silicone spatula and cooking set comes with everything you need for your kitchen. I love using silicone because it’s super easy to clean and the food doesn’t seep into the wood like it does with my older, traditional wooden utensils. If you’re going to spend time in the kitchen you may as well do it with some great tools.
It’s a new year and lots of people are setting some great new goals. Some of mine include healthier eating, trying a new recipe every month, and trying to budget eat after the holidays. Trying to save money means I’m trying simpler recipes like pastas, potatoes, and lots of roast vegetables. However, with these recipes, particularly the pastas, I’ve noticed a major difference of taste and freshness when I use the proper ingredients. Garlic powder may be convenient and easy to use, but fresh garlic really does make a difference. If you are sick of peeling and cutting up garlic then you need to get a press. These tools turn a garlic chore into a garlic heaven as it gets you minced pieces in no time. The next time you are preparing pasta alla gricia or even just spaghetti, try using some fresh garlic with this press.
Exciting meals can sometimes lead to a smelly fridge. I’m talking about fish, curries, and other delicious meals that are super tasty, but can make your clean fridge smell. Rather than avoid cooking those meals, get a deodorizer that lasts. Most people are familiar with the baking soda trick, but sometimes that may not be enough and modern times call for the best kitchen appliances to help you. The NonScents deodorizer lasts 6 times longer than baking soda and actually eliminates the bad scents rather than just masking them. If you’re looking for a cleaner fridge this year, then this a must-have for your kitchen.
I love condiments, but I hate having a million bottles and jars in my fridge. With this organizer you save on space and you also have an amazing serving tool. Whether you are cooking inside with hot pot, taco salads, or preparing for an outside BBQ, this is the perfect tool for your family. With a bottom portion open for ice, you can keep your condiments chilled to your preference. It’s great for a variety of condiments ranging from charcuterie to sauces; this will make organizing and serving a breeze.
Fall Back in Love with Cooking
There are so many more kitchen tools that make cooking quicker and more efficient. Who doesn’t love easy cleaning and cooking a delicious meal? But, the biggest thing at the end of the day is your mindset. If you’ve been struggling with enjoying cooking, then it’s important to take a step back and find out the reasons why. Is it stress? Are you too tired? There are always days that cooking can be the thing you dread, but cooking doesn’t have to be the worst thing ever. Find ways to make cooking exciting and fun again. Start with your mindset and turn it into a positive. Positive affirmations can have a huge impact on you and even the tasks you have to do. Try adding some fun elements to this chore as well. Music, podcasts, and even planning a new recipe or fun meal once a week can help change that attitude. And remember to not be too critical of yourself in the kitchen; cooking is a wonderful human experience that can be an amazing part of your life.
